Mental illness is a serious condition with powerful consequences for individuals, their families and the community. Support and educational services are provided to families that have a relative with mental illness. Services help the family members understand specific disabilities and help in the development of rehabilitation plans to increase communication, to improve the quality of life and to prevent family crisis. These services enhance the family’s coping mechanisms and help them develop skills in dealing with mental health service providers. For an application click here. There is no cost to the consumer. Funding for Case Management services is provided through the New York State Office of Mental Health and the Niagara County Department of Mental Health. Medicaid is billed, if appropriate. |
